One would think that owning a Hummer would be something somebody who has chosen to live green would not have. However, with many alternative sources of fuels coming to market, being a green Hummer owner is achievable. Now that General Motors essentially owns Hummer, the car manufacturer is making efforts to make Hummers that run on alternative fuels. The Hummer had a hated reputation as a gas guzzling vehicle. But an alternative fuel model of the Hummer appears to be a superb idea because there are many who like the size but are concerned for the earth.

The result was an environmentally conscious company accepting the challenge to make a Hummer into an eco-friendly vehicle. Eco-Trek Organization is a non-profit organization with Tom Holm, who promotes cars that don't use gasoline, but clean burning alternative fuel sources. Considering his connection with Eco-Trek and the fact that he was fed up with his gas-guzzling Hummer, Tom wanted to make it more environmentallyfriendly. Tom was not only able to make his Hummer run on alternative fuel, but he succeeded in making it fuel efficient. Consequently, Tom succeeded in turning his experiment into a lucrative business enterprise. The Hummers that Tom alters are likewise enhanced visually, making them well-liked by the young. Tom's Hummers have garnered a lot of attention from the young crowd due to its stylish designs and its environmentally safe underpinnings. The Hummers are more eco-friendly than hybrid autos since they do not use crude oil based fuels, but uses cleaner biodiesel fuels. These modified vehicles can run totally on vegetable oil; as a matter of fact, using only Crisco, you can run one of these alternative fuel Hummers. What's impressive is that the Hummer, despite its large size, can go for 23 miles per gallon on the highway without any petrol. Even famous people like these environmentally safe Hummers. Case in point, Arnold Schwarzenegger has two of these environment-friendly Hummers. Also, good old Arnold owned a Hummer that ran exclusivvely on hydrogen fuel, which gives out 0 greenhouse gas. Whenever your automobile can run on a fuel and not give off any greenhouse gases, it is beneficial for the environment. And so, if you prefer the size and appearance of a Hummer but you don't like its fuel efficiency, you can now buy one that utilizes alternative fuels.

You can buy one that is already made, or have the standard Hummer converted into a vehicle that is eco-friendly. It may cost you a lot of money but it is well worth it as you will be driving the car you want while protecting the environment. View Useful Article: Click The Link
